Pair of Neoclassical style gilt bronze and ebonised wood stands

This fine pair of stands is crafted from ebonised wood mounted with gilt bronze. The stands resemble truncated classical columns. Each stand, raised on a circular base, features a cylindrical body mounted with gilt bronze elements: foliate swags along the top and acanthus leaf type motifs along the bottom. The pair demonstrates the elegance of 19th Century French Neoclassicism.
