French 19th Century Mahogany Restauration Center Table
-
Description
A stunning mahogany center table, with marble top, made in the French Restauration style. Dating to 1870, this beautiful table remains in excellent antique condition. The slate gray marble top has more lightly colored gray veins and a slightly dished surface with carved bands that ornament its perimeter. The mahogany veneer is remarkably intact with very few repairs or defects. The top is lifted by a vasiform hexagonal standard that rests on a hexagonal plinth and tripodal base with well-carved claw feet. The shapley base has been embellished with impressive carved scroll details.
