George III Period Mahogany Secretaire Chest on Chest

Description
George III period boldly figured mahogany secretaire chest on chest with fitted fall front drawer and writing surface in three sections. The cornice has a carved Gothic molding above two short and three long graduated drawers. The top drawer of the lower section is a fall front which opens to reveal the secretary desk with nine inlaid satinwood drawers banded with mahogany and nine gothic arched pigeon holes outlined with satinwood stringing. The fall front is also cross banded with mahogany and darker stringing. The base with a serpentine shaped apron raised on elegant splayed bracket feet. The oval brass hardware is original. There are two keys. The patina is outstanding.
