1778 Darning Sampler by Hannah Kent. The sampler is worked in silk on linen ground, in a variety of stitches. Finely embroidered border. Colors green, cream, blue, green, gold, black, brown and pink. Signed and dated, 'Hannah Kent 1779'. Comprises of darning panels, worked in various different styles and patterns, with a central floral motif. Framed in a modern frame with glass. Mounting: The sampler is fixed to card. Frame backed with wood and brown paper. (Dimensions exclude the frame/slip).

Origin: England Period: 18th Century Materials: Silk Condition: Good. Good. A couple of very small holes. A couple of patchy stains. No stitch losses. Colours are good and bright. No colour run.
