Description
Wakasa lacquer is known for it’s unique use of natural items to make texture (such as pine needles, mother of pearl, egg shells, etc.), and its characteristic variation in color. Layers of different colored lacquer are formed into mounds on the wakasa lacquer surface, which are then shaved and polished down to reveal the colorful cross section of the raised areas as well as (for this tray) MOP scattered throughout. This gives each wakasa lacquer piece a completely unique pattern.
