Exceptional Swedish Mid-Century Modern Neoclassical Chandelier Axel Einar Hjort

Description
An exceptional work of art and design for a chandelier that transcends the modern and the neoclassical. Two pieces of glass are handblown into oval and bowl forms and then are etched in a cross-hatched pattern. The glass pieces alternate with pieces of nickeled bronze including one piece with dramatic spiking creating a rare and magnificent presence. Like all of Hjort's work this was a unique commisioned piece for a Swedish industrialist's residence outside of Stockholm.
