Description
This graphic and sophisticated Mid Century Modern abstract inlayed mosaic side/ occasional table was realized in Italy circa 1950. It features a fantastical assortment of abstract shapes- organic spheres, ellipsoids and sinuously curved atomic forms- intersecting and adjoining, composed of amboyna, burled carpathian elm, walnut, pear, mahogany and macassar. The beautiful marquetry showcases the inherent splendor of the various woods' grain and color. The table sits on three ebonized tapered walnut legs with brushed brass embellishments at their apex. With its refined palate, clean modernist lines and dynamic (and stunning) marquetry, this piece is as versatile as it is aesthetically compelling, blending perfectly with any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. It has been newly restored to mint condition.
