Description
American, probably New England, ca. 1870.
Watercolor on paper, in a period gilt frame.
13 ½” x 18 ½” with frame.
Condition; Very good condition, minor toning.
This pleasing view of a homestead with figures in the foreground is painted by an itinerant artist. The contrast of the muted colors and flat dimensions of the hillside adds to the folky manner of the scene. -
