Anglo-Raj Campaign Chest/Secretaire
-
Description
This is a unusual style of 19th century Anglo-Indian or Raj campaign chest in teak and other fine woods with detail line inlay. The two part chest is in overall very good condition. The fitted Secretaire section's arrangement of the drawers, locked central compartment and dividers is unusual and very pleasing. The hardware is of exceptional quality and pops the decorative elements of the chest up a notch. All original elements of the chest are retained; the surface appears to be original--perhaps an old resurface with natural patina. The interior is in excellent condition with its original leather writing surface.
