This stunning Mid Century Modern Venetian mirror was realized in Italy, circa 1950. It features a circular plain mirror in the center circumscribed by translucent braided glass- of which there are two more concentric tiers. Extending from the corners of the piece are amorphic embellishments wrapped in handblown braided Murano glass. Additionally, the center medallion offers a wealth of geometric diamond form embellishments as well as stylized floral and foliate details in reverse églomisé which are also present throughout the mirrored panels. There are also sculptural channeled handblown Murano florets with 24 karat gold flecks attached throughout the exterior of the mirror. With its beautiful attention to detail and clean modernist lines, this mirror would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Art Deco to contemporary. It is in excellent vintage condition.
