Antique Silkwork embroidery of a bird of paradise. The embroidery is worked in silks on silk ground, in a variety of stitches. Colors green, cream, blue, copper, pink, brown and black. Framed in an old, elaborately decorated wood frame, with rippled old glass. Mounting: The sampler is fixed to board. Frame backed with brown paper. Scene depicts an applique of a bird of paradise perched in a tree. (Dimensions exclude the frame).

Colours are slightly faded, but still well defined. No colour run. Stretching is slightly uneven.
