Italian Pineapple-Form Gilt Tole Cchandelier, 2 Available
-
Description
This is a fun near pair of c. 1960-1970 Italian gilt tole chandeliers in the form of a pineapple* with painted tole flowers. The chandeliers are in very good overall condition with normal patination to the gold leaf. The wiring has been professionally checked and is in good condition. Although not readily discernible, one chandelier is slightly more rounded and has a slightly warmer gold leaf tone; additionally, the tole flowers are a bit different.
The slight discrepancies would not prohibit the chandeliers from being hung as a pair. Sold individually.
**The pineapple is a Southern traditional symbol of friendship and hospitality. In Renaissance Europe, the pineapple was a symbol of prosperity and status. Over time, it has also come to symbolize the "Divine Feminine." -
