Rare "Turtle Coffee Table" in patinated bronze and pewter with zoomorphic base by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1966 (signed on top “Philip Kelvin LaVerne”). This model was typically made as a side table. This coffee table was a custom order.

Sculpture, Bronze and Pewter Tables, The Art of Philip LaVerne, catalog with gold cover published in the 1960s, there is a photo of this model as a side table on page 4. In the back of the catalog is a description which reads, “TURTLE: Unmistakably suggested by impressionistic lines is the delightful hint of a turtle. The magnificent tones of the golden bronze surface are encrusted with dancing green patinas. The top rests on a sculptured base with three legs.” -
