Pair of vermeil and cut glass claret jugs by Tétard
French, early 20th Century

This superb pair of claret jugs is by the French firm Tétard Frères, a leading producer of luxury silverware. Each jug features a fluted cut glass body of bulbous form. The body of each is supported by a vermeil (or gilt silver) circular foot moulded with foliate designs, while each body is topped with a vermeil neck with integral hinged lid and scrolled handle, likewise moulded with Art Deco style foliate designs.
Both jugs are fully hallmarked and bear the maker’s mark of Tétard Frères.
