Presenting a gorgeous British antique brass and leather club fender.
Late 19th or very early 20th century … circa 1900.
The leather is a beautifully aged tan or camel color with hints of darker browns. Naturally aged patina and it has been very well maintained.
The seats are padded and upholstered using brass round pins.
The brass, likewise has naturally aged patina and features barley twist columns interspersed with round columns….. a lovely little extra detail !
It is a good size and suitable for most fireplaces.
Club Fender: Originated in England in the 18th century, as a form of fireside seating in ‘club rooms’ where cards, billiards and other social games were played.
One could sit closer to the fire on cold winter evenings. -
