    Rare and elegant "Kuan Su" coffee table in patinated bronze and pewter with hand-applied polychrome enamels by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960's (signed “Philip. Kelvin LaVerne” on top). This model was typically made as a side tables. This was a custom order coffee table.

    Sculpture, Bronze and Pewter Tables, The Art of Philip LaVerne published in the 1960’s, page 11 shows this model. In the back of the catalog is the description:
    “The relaxed position of the floral motif, combined with the soft contoured lines of the background, suggest the delicate precise Chinoiseries décor that inspired the rich designs of the 18th century. Timeless beauty held forever in bronze and pewter.”
