Description
Beautiful original, neoclassical early Biedermeier Secretaire from Austria, Vienna around 1820.
Outside in book-matched walnut veneer and solid wood with ebonized conical full-columns. The fold-down plate has been done in cherry solid wood with an ebonized square writing surface in the center.
Elaborate classicist interior with archways and pilaster columns. Solid cherry wood inside with ebonized parts. Can be taken out completely and have some secret compartments.
At the bottom, the secretary has two doors with a rod lock and solid drawer inside.
Fully restored condition. High-gloss shellac French polished surface.
