Pair of Italian Grand Tour Mahogany Wood & Bronze Roman Ruins Neoclassical Model

Sold Sold
  • Description
A fantastic and rare pair of Italian Grand Tour mahogany wood and bronze roman ruins neoclassical models, circa late 19th century.
These are very rare and exceptionally made pieces from the Grand Tour period. If you collect Grand Tour models, these are a must have. We haven’t seen many of them made in Mahogany wood. Usually they are made in Marble or Plaster.
These models are made from beautiful carved mahogany and patinated bronze capitals. Includes purposefully carved “cracks” to base blocks. Very large in size and in original, excellent condition. Photos don’t do justice.
Similarly sized and vintage “Grand Tour” souvenirs sell for upwards to well over ten thousand dollars. Making this chic piece truly a deal.
    Measures: 21? high x 10? wide x 6.5? deep.
