Description
Fine round three-legged early Biedermeier Sewing or Side Table from South Germany around 1820.
The plate and apron of the table are veneered in a wonderul walnut with the plate having a star-shaped veneer pattern and ebony star inlay in the middle. The key escutcheon is made with a maple inlay in diamond shape. The plate can be curved to the sides opening the former sewing interior kept in soft wood. There is a needle cushion, which can be folded out.
Three very elegantly curved walnut solid square legs with an in-between plate. Inlaid original and working lock. The table has been restored with shellac french polish in a conservatory way so that the old patina is being kept. -
