Antique Georgian Silkwork Embroidery depicting a young lady sitting in a room, gazing out the window. She is playing a lyre which rests on her lap. The embroidery is worked in silk, on a silk ground, in a variety of stitches. Colours brown, pink, red, blue, gold. Hand painted detail to the window and landscape outside. Well worked floral border. Framed in an old, gilded, gesso frame with card slip and glass covering. Chipboard backing. (dimensions exclude the slip and frame). Dimensions exclude the frame and slip.

Period: 19th Century Condition: Good. Good. A few small holes to the border at the top and bottom. Small split in the silk backing to the sky. Small split in right hand border. No staining. No stitch losses. Colours are all good and strong. No colour run.
