Pair of Armchairs Designed by Carlo Hauner, Brazilian Mid-Century Modern

$ 7,497
  • Description
    This beautiful pair of armchairs was designed by Carlo Hauner in Brazil.
    They are definitely very elegant pieces with clean lines and a minimalistic shape. Because of the organic shape of the structure, it is super comfortable. The legs of the armchairs are made of corten-painted steel. These pieces were carefully reupholstered and restored by one of the best craftsmen in São Paulo.

    Martin Eisler (1913-1977) and Carlo Hauner (1927-1997) were the main designers creating for the iconic Brazilian furniture manufacturer Forma.
    European-born, Eisler emigrated in 1938 to Buenos Aires, Argentina, before moving to Brazil in the early 1950s. Hauner— hailing from Brescia, Italy and educated in technical drawing at Milan’s Brera Academy—arrived in South America a bit later, in 1949. The two met for the first time, in São Paulo and were inspired to merge their production companies into one—the company which, after a series of name changes, eventually became Forma.
