Description
An exceptional Swedish birchwood and upholstered armchair with footstool, circa 1930s, designed by Carl Malmsten for SMF Svenska Möbelfabrikerna, Bodafors. Makers metal tag on verso. Graceful scrolled and downswept backrests, armrests and supports, raised on sabre legs with inset horizontal carvings. A characteristic of the Malmsten - SMF design collaboration. New wool upholstery with contrasting piping.
Measurements footstool: 24 in.-wide, 21 in.-deep, 14 1/2 in. -high. -
