Description
Here for your consideration is a beautiful original oil on canvas painting of flower sellers in front of la Madeleine in Paris at dusk by the French artist Henri Schaeffer. Signed lower right. Circa 1960. Condition is excellent. Framed in its original hand carved wood painted frame. Overall framed measurements are 26 by 29.75 inches. Provenance: A east coast Florida estate.
Henri Schaeffer was born August 9, 1900 in Paris. He studied art at the Academies des Beaux Arts. He was a member of and exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français, beginning in 1934.
Schaeffer specialized in painting urban Paris scenes. Schaeffer was a Post-Impressionist artist. Schaeffer's paintings have sold in France, Germany, Holland and the United States -
