Description
This sophisticated Mid Century Modern "floating" benches were realized in the United States circa 1950. They feature splayed tapered legs- attached via rectangular cross slats- that connect to the cushions through four vertical cylindrical supports all in ebonized walnut. The raised construction of the benches provides them with a captivating "floating" effect. The seats have raised ends that extend outwards at a dramatic angle, imbuing these pieces with a dynamic and graphic silhouette- an aesthetic that is heightened by the geometric grisaille fabric. With their clean modernist lines and beautiful attention to detail, these benches would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. They have been newly reupholstered and restored to mint condition.
