Decorated with a series of intricate and beautiful scenes of birds and flowers, this lacquered wood and mother-of-pearl Chinese screen is a perfect demonstration of the skill, artistry, and sophistication of antique Chinese craftsmanship. A set of four panels depict a selection of mythical-looking birds of prey, doves, and smaller birds, against a minimalist floral background, in mother-of-pearl inlay. They are framed within red-lacquer insets, themselves framed within equally ornate and intricately carved hinged wooden panels. Demonstrative of the very finest artistic taste in Chinese antiques, this set of panels constitute a beautiful and enviable antique piece.
