An Italian grand tour silver table library lamp depicting mercury, Rome, circa 1830, after the Antique.
With Italian silver hallmarks and makers marks throughout.
The stem representing the Giambologna Mercury, resting on a cylindrical base in two-tone marble, the oil tank with three lamps decorated with Bacchus heads, the finial shaped as a putto and his dog, the removable screen of oval shape.
Measures: 31" high x 5" wide
Very good condition, no damages noted. Normal wear consistent with age and use. Minor chips to marble base. Ready to place. Would look great in a gentleman's office or private room. - More Information
