Nude Theme Straight Razor, Germany, 1905

Description
Great barber shop collectible item consisting of a German straight edge razor with a molded red celluloid handle; theme is a nude standing on a pillow holding flowers over her head. The back blade side reveals manufactured by "Simon Pure Cutlery Co. Germany" embossed at the base of the blade (see image). Handle side shows their "Bell" logo and opposite side has cream colored celluloid handle. Company was founded in 1873 and is know for fine quality knives such as this example. Straight edge razor is in all original excellent condition; the celluloid handle is clear, clean and finely defined, while the concave blade is still sharp and retains most of its original finish. Blade is nice and sharp; opens and closes very well on pin swivel.
Highly desirable subject matter for a straight edge razor makes this very collectible.
