1748 Suspension by Max Ingrand for Fontana Arte

Description
Beautiful and rare suspension model 1748 designed by Max ingrand in 1957 for Fontana Arte. The suspension is made of a free shaped acid frosted glass diffuser with six chiselled glass areas that are aligned and positioned under the lamp holders and a tapered, polished brass central stem.
Max Ingrand is a French master glass craftsman artist and decorator, he was artistic director of the Italian lighting manufacturer Fontana Arte for one decade, starting from 1954.
He studied at the École des Beaux Arts de Paris and the prestigious École des Arts Décoratifs, where he was pupil of major artists, Jacques Grüber and Charles Lemaresquier.
During the time he worked at Fontana Arte, he created some of the most iconic designs of the brand such as the classic Fontana table lamp.
He also created a great number of stained glass panels for religious buildings, hotels and public places.
He was awarded the Legion of Honor by the French gouvernement for his contributions to design. -
