French 19th Century Solid Fruitwood Buffet
-
Description
A delightfully charming 19th century solid fruitwood buffet, made in France. Influenced by the Louis Philippe style, this beautiful case antique features an overall linear composition with subtle, curved elements that give the buffet a style all its own. The long drawer – situated above the interior – has a shaped front that is continued around each side. It can be accessed with either its brass pulls or its key which is centered in the drawer and operates its functioning lock. The panel doors beneath conceal a large interior which has been outfitted with a single fixed drawer. Both the doors and drawer sport handsome brass shield escutcheons. The buffet is constructed with peg joinery and is raised by playful bracket feet.
