Green Italian Mid-Century modern bar cabinet by Aldo Tura in lacquered Goat Skin

Stunning green bar cabinet designed and produced by Aldo Tura in Italy, probably in the 1960s. The bar is equipped with a small refrigerator and a compartment mirrored with clear glass shelves that can be illuminated. The colour play of the green varnished goat skin is absolutely gorgeous. The bar has a sturdy structure made of mahogany wood. The two elegantly shaped legs are connected by a brass bar. The front of the bar is decorated with rivets.
All of the metal details such as the key, the lock and the hinges are made of gilded metal.
The lighting and the refrigerator are in working order. Aldo Tura (1909-1963) was a hands-on designer who experimented greatly with traditional craftsmanship hand applied Craft processes and finishes out of his workshop in Milan. He is best known for his tables and lamps, which drew on shapes from the Art Deco and Art Nouveau movements. His designs used interesting materials such as parchment, eggshell and goatskin to be center stage. -
