Mid-Century Modern Venetian Glass Mirror W/ Chain Beveling and Reverse Etched

Description
This beautiful Mid-Century Modern Venetian glass mirror was executed in Italy, circa 1960. It features a rectangular body with an arch form top- consisting of two curved panels on its neck and a demilune panel crowning the form. The mirrored segments that compose the perimeter offer a wealth of graphic reverse etched foliate foliate forms punctuated with orbital chain beveled detailing. These spherical reverse etched forms recur around the border of the plain mirrored center. Floral rivets and stylized teardrop form florets secure the mirror at the corners as well as as the connection points between the panels lending the piece a subtle three dimensionality and testifying to the fact that no detail (no matter how miniscule) was overlooked in its painstaking construction. With its clean modernist lines and monochromatic palate, this piece would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. It is in excellent vintage condition.
