French Directoire Dining Table
-
Description
This is a great uncommonly large folder-over demi-lune dining table. The table is crafted of solid beautifully grained pearwood. The shaped legs terminate in their original brass caps; all five of the legs are in good condition with indications of old inactive worming. These indications of old inactive worming are good indicators of the age of the table and contribute to its natural patina. The brass hinges are original and are in good condition. The pull-out drawer-leg support is in good sturdy condition. The actual dimensions of the table top are 65" x 67"--nearly round and generous so as to seat 8 comfortably. If desired, the top can be folded over and the table will convert to robust console or server.
**We have listed separately a set of 10 compatible Louis XVI Style walnut dining chairs. -
