Karl Springer Large Hand-Blown White Scavo Glass Vase 1980s (Signed)
-
Description
Large hand-blown glass vase, white scavo glass with coil around and decorative elements on sides, by Seguso (Murano Italy) for Karl Springer, American 1980's (signed on bottom “KARL SPRINGER”). This form is quite rare. The scale of Springer’s hand-blown glass vases makes them exceptional. On the back of this stunning vase is a small strip of amber glass, which was another color Springer used in his glass designs. The glass blowers incorporated it into this piece.
Seguso executed Karl Springer’s hand-blown Venetian glass pieces which were typically with a scavo finish. -
