Jacques Schnier

American, 1898 - 1988
Trained as an engineer and architect, Jacques Schnier turned his attention to sculpture in the mid-twenties developing a national reputation, particularly for his direct carvings. This studio drawing, along with several others currently n our inventory, was executed during a particularly fruitful period in the late 20s when he shared studio and exhibition space with painter Edward Hagedorn and sculptor Robert Howard.
