Established in 1980, D. Wigmore Fine Art specializes in the major historic styles of American art. Over the past three decades the gallery has acquired, developed exhibitions, and sold the Hudson River School, American Impressionism, and the Ashcan School. Our current focus is early Modernism, realist and abstract art of the 1930s and 1940s, as well as Op, Hard Edge, and Color Field painting of the 1960s and 1970s.

We represent the following estates: George Biddle, Doris Lee, Irene Rice Pereira, Charles Green Shaw, Esphyr Slobodkina, Francis Hewitt, and Mon Levinson. We represent the Op artist Tadasky and Washington Color School artist Paul Reed.

We select paintings, works on paper, and sculpture in excellent condition from each artist's best period. D. Wigmore Fine Art serves both private and museum clients. We provide exhibitions and information which create a historical context for artists and their art. The gallery works with scholars to facilitate their research and to make possible connections to our clients for information regarding reproduction and/or exhibition of works in their collections. Our goal is to help clients create meaningful collections of American art.
