Birnam Wood Studio treats functionality as a ground plane for aesthetic play. Making materials spark, become molten, desiccate, oxidize, exhale and twist is at the crux of our research-driven practice. Produced through experiment and experience, through mallet and chisel, drawing on fine craft and imaginative exploration, each design is the culmination of many collisions.
Birnam was founded in 2017 by Brecht Wright Gander.

2018 NYCxDesign Honoree 2019 American Design Hot List Honoree Brecht’s designs have been shown at ICFF NYC in 2017, the Architectural Digest Home Show in 2018 and 2019, Design Miami in 2018, and Collect 2018. His limited edition work is represented by Todd Merrill Studio.
