Large Bitossi ‘Etruscan’ Decor Floor Vase / Umbrella Stand by Aldo Londi 1950
A rare, very large perforated cylindrical vase or umbrella stand designed by Aldo Londi for Bitossi Ceramiche, featuring the iconic ‘Etruscan’ décor. Numbered 45 of 51.
Designed in Italy in the mid-20th century, this piece reflects Londi’s signature blend of artisanal craftsmanship and modernist form. Executed in textured ceramic with openwork detail, it makes a striking sculptural statement.
About the Maker:
Bitossi Ceramiche, founded in 1921 in Montelupo Fiorentino, Tuscany, is renowned for its handcrafted ceramics and collaborations with modernist icons like Ettore Sottsass. Aldo Londi, Bitossi's longtime creative director, is best known for his expressive mid-century designs, including the famed Rimini Blu series.
