Description
Chinese Export camphor wood and leather trunk with iron carrying handles, painted red with floral borders, corners and escutcheon, decorated with brass tacks; the carved and painted risers a later addition.
37" x 21" x 20.75" high, with base
With its monogramed top, this elaborate trunk was certainly made to order. The pair of carved and painted feet were probably made sometime in the mid/late 19th c., when the handles were replaced. -
