Description
This iconic large “American-style" Sarouk from Western Persia show a red field with a centred, but allover, pattern of detached floral sprays detailed in shades of blue. The contrasting navy border shows reversing palmettes against millefleurs sprays. Heavy, leathery texture, cotton foundation. “American-style" Sarouks are probably the most popular of all antique and vintage Persian carpets. Good condition.
