This antique "Mohtasham" scatter shows chunky, angular drawing of the notched, hexagon medallion with enlarged spade pendants, against an equally informal ecru ground with flowers and stiff stems. Navy border with wreathed rosettes, symmetrized palmettes and boteh leaves. From the first generation of "Mohtasham" rugs before the advent of scale paper cartoons. Fine weave, cotton foundation. Good condition for the age and use.
