Antique Handmade Persian Tribal Afshar pictorial Rug, c-1880's 3'10" x 5'10".
Antique Afshar Rugs – Produced by nomads and villagers in southeastern Iran in the cities of Shiraz, Kerman and Yazd, these antique Persian rugs are some of the few that merge nomadic and village techniques. The Afshar tribe was among those listed as the clans of Turkoman Oghuz.
The center of the rug has the most intertying design, of the tribal man with his weapon and his horse which is the most important part of his life after his family and the bird, which is the sign of freedom. The border of the rug also illustrated of all kind of beautiful birds.
Impressive colors, eggplant brown, white, green, yellow. This rug is in good condition with Wear consistent with age and use and it has been professionally cleaned. -
