Description
Around 1900 there was a vogue in Tabriz for finely woven scatters in Turkish niche designs, often, as here, with red field and semi-functional side columns. A giant vase yields a flowering rose bush, with a wavy spandrel area and an upper panel. Ecru border with sickle leaves, palmettes and rosettes. Uniform visible wear. An attractive wall hanging.
