This vintage carpet, made by the queen of Swedish textile design, Marta Maas-Fjetterstrom, is anything an aficionado of Scandinavian weaving art could wish for. Its complex yet simplistic design consisting of a four rows of serrated diamond-like shapes, is a reference to traditional patterns found in Swedish homes. Maas-Fjetterstrom skillfully modified the classical solution, creating a composition with a surprisingly modern look, suiting up-to-date interior design trends. Titled Gront Pa linne (Green on Linnen), the carpet was created using a tapestry weave, meant to be hanged on the wall, not cover the floor. Maas-Fjetterstrom's colors of choice being mustard yellow, dark green and beige perfectly balance each other out. As a result, this Swedish carpet fuses together tradition and modernity with ease.
