Description
1811 Dutch Darning Sampler. Framed in an old wood frame with gilt slip and glass. Mounted to conservator standards on acid free card with chipboard backing. The sampler is worked in silk on linen ground, in a variety of stitches. No border. Colours browns, blue, green, pink, cream and yellow. Family initials. Signed and dated, 'ANNO 1811 12 IAAR'. A wonderful set of darning panels worked in various styles and patterns.
