A beautful Art Deco nude bathing in a lake setting.
Housed in a gorgeous period gilt frame with an overall dimension of 36 x 30 inches.
Painting measures 24 x 18 inches, signed lower left, C. 1920's
Provenance: The Thompson Galleries, Detroit.
Alfred Georges Hoen was born on January 3, 1869 in Bar le Duc, France. In 1890, Alfred left for Paris and studied at the Ecole des Arts Decoratifs. He also studied at the Ecole des Beau-Arts, where he was a pupil of Gerome.

Alfred was a valued portrait painter in France and the United States. He also painted landscapes, seascapes and genre paintings from both World Wars. Settled and living in France in 1940, Alfred exhibited in the Salon des Artoestes, Francais, of which he became a member in 1910. Alfred Georges Hoen died on November 12, 1954 in Paris.
