Description
Oil on masonite painting by the Russian/American artist Nahum Tschacbasov. Signed lower right and dated 1949. Framed in a new contemporary silver leaf frame 37 by 43 inches.
Nahum Tschacbasov's paintings can be seen in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum, the Brooklyn Nuseum, the Jewish Museum, the Philadelphia Museum of Fine Art, and many other university and private collections.
Tschacbasov painted for over 50 years. He lived in New York City in the Chelsea Hotel and spent from 1973 til his death in 1984 in his residence in East Hampton, Long Island.
