Description
Very rare parchment covered cabinet by André Arbus, the front door decorated with the sickle and the sheaf of wheat in honor to agriculture. Signed and dated: André Arbus '36. Paris , France circa 1936 . Reference: André Arbus by Yvonne Brunhammer. Edition Norma, France: 1996. p.129-133-134 This cabinet was commissioned for the Ministre de L’Agriculture of France Georges Monnet in 1936 by fellow ministers Léon Blum ,Vincent Auriol and others at the occasion of the birth of his child. The ministers all signed their names on the door of the cabinet.
