This is a massive Buffet a Deux Corps from 19th century France. Constructed with warm solid oak, the top portion measures 68”H x 54-⅜”W x 21-¼”D and the bottom measures 38-⅓”H x 63-¼”W x 24”D. Topped with a protruding rounded cornice and a lovely carved flower detail. The doors on the top portion feature the original wavy glass, set into decoratively carved panels. Matching hand cut escutcheon plates grace the locking and latching doors, with a smaller version duplicated on the bottom. All four heavy doors are secured with the original steel barrel hinges. Opening the top storage cabinet reveals three uniquely shaped, adjustable shelves. The bottom features a single adjustable shelf measuring the length of the piece and a scalloped skirt.
