French 19th Century Cherry Louis Philippe Buffet
-
Description
An incredibly handsome solid cherry Louis Philippe period buffet from 19th century France. Louis Philippe furniture is cherished for its simple, clean design and great lines. This makes the style extremely versatile, and able to be used in any space. This particular LP buffet has those clean lines as well as detailed embellishments that make the antique even more special. Most notable are the wonderful ivory escutcheons that surround each keyhole. Another is the solid walnut burl panels that grace the doors. The carved bracket feet, decorated with scrolled foliage and flowers, is yet another embellishment that makes this piece so great. All locks are in working order and the drawers open with ease. The two doors conceal an interior cavity that has a single fixed shelf. c.1880.
