This unique custom Mid-Century Modern "Meteorite" sconce was realized by the legendary 20th Century artist and designer Angelo Brotto in Italy. The features a domed Silhouette, created by free form casting, revealing organic overlapping terrains with craggy textures and interstices of negative space all in unlacquered brass. This piece is as dramatic as it is contemporary looking, testifying to the forward looking sensibility of Brotto. The piece appears as fresh and modern today as it did when it was designed more than 50 years ago. With its beautiful attention to detail, handcrafted in Brotto's studio, and austere Silhouette, this piece would be a winning addition to any style of interior from Classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent vintage condition. The flush mount accommodates four Edison based bulbs offering up to 400 watts of light.
